My name is Lino Maggio, and I am running for re-election as Hobart Township Assessor.

 

It has been a privilege to serve our community over the past two years, and I am seeking your continued support as we work to further improve the quality and transparency of our property assessments.

 

Since taking office, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that our office provides the highest level of service to our residents. In just two years, I have achieved Level 3 Assessor Appraiser status and have led an effort to elevate the qualifications of our entire staff. When I took office, we had only one Level 3 Assessor. Today, we have three Level 3 Assessors and three additional staff members just one class away from obtaining their Level 3 accreditation. This investment in professional development has improved the accuracy and efficiency of our assessments, ensuring fairness and accountability for every taxpayer. I believe my 11 years on the Hobart City Council as well as my 32 Years as a Teamster have given me the experience to understand the property valuation system and everything that it affects.

My vision for the future of Hobart Township Assessor’s office remains focused on:

 

• Fairness: Continuing to assess properties fairly, in line with state and local laws, to ensure equitable tax burdens for all residents.

• Transparency: Providing clear, accessible information to help residents understand the assessment process and feel confident that their taxes are based on accurate values.

• Efficiency: Streamlining office operations and ensuring that we are providing top-tier service to Hobart Township while making the best use of taxpayer dollars.
